February 16th Update

Art

Students created wonderful pieces inspired by the artwork of Ted Harrison. Here is a glimpse of the finished products.

On Tuesday we will be painting...again! Please wear or bring your painting clothes to school!

Math

We will have a math test next Friday. A study guide was sent home yesterday including the specific expectations and big ideas being covered.

Check out the "Equations Game" on page 145 of this document for extra practise at home.

Writing

We are learning how to write clear and detailed procedures following a specific format. This skill will come in handy for a science project beginning next week!

For extra practise at home consider following a recipe at home, this connects to writing as well as mass and capacity!

Science

This week was spend experimenting how different liquids and solids react when mixed together, and exploring how structures can be strong and stable. Here are some pictures that capture this learning:

Yearbook

Yearbook!  Yearbook!  Yearbook!  Purchase our first ever Rick Hansen yearbook … a time capsule of the events and people that made this year memorable.  Please return your order form to your homeroom teacher as soon as possible.  Orders are due before the end of the month.  Once the deadline passes, you will not be able to order a yearbook … so don’t miss out on your chance. If you lost your order form, you can pick up a new one in the office.

Have a great Family Day Weekend!
